Change For The Better (3:33)

A song about friendship. I wrote this song in Fall’99 to sing at a Thursday night Young Life club in my hometown of Hamilton, Georgia. Written of no one in particular, but of many who, had I followed their lead, would ‘change me for the better,’ it’s a paean to friendship.

Mother Teresa once said, "let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier." Many who have touched my life have, and still do, put that idea into practice. Says the proverbist, "he who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."

i see your simple kindness, i watch the way you do

The more that we’re together, the more i want to be like you

You make me change for the better

i love your easy laughter, like a melody to a song

i love the way you listen when i ramble on and on

i’ve made some bad decisions, took some wrong turns in my life

But maybe there’s a little bit of evidence that you’re finally gonna get me right
