Worse Things in Life Than Being Single

- a light-hearted reminder that single life is not all that bad.

I saw this guy and this girl arguing the other day
He said just grow up, and she said what did you say
Their tempers were short and their words were strong
You could tell that they were clearly not getting along
There are worse things in this life than being single

seems the Christmas gift he'd given her was not what she desired
she set her heart on diamonds but she got a set of tires
and then she got real quiet, and her tears put out his fire
there's worse things in this life ..

well the old boy he felt lousy he knew he'd lost the fight
he put his arm around her and he tried to hold her tight
she said that there is nothing wrong,
but you could tell there was nothing right
round one now is over and there's fourteen more to fight
there's worse .

Now married folks don't fail to understand just what I mean
At times I'd rather much be in your shoes
But single folks take heart for it's a simple fact of life
There's a lot of work attached to those "I do's"

Now I 'd love to have a friend with whom to walk my way through life
And maybe some fine day my heart will tingle
But till that day I'm thankful for this time I have alone
There are worse things in this life .
