In reminiscence of October 1997 when I spent some restful
days with my
parents and friends of Young Life at Elk Canyon Lodge, in White Sulfur
Springs, Montana. With special thanks to John and Kay Eckhardt for their
kindness and hospitality.
Paint and Brushes
God pulls out His paint and His brushes
To paint me a picture with you
A small winding road in Montana
On a canvas of deep green and blue
We have left everything that's familiar
To be here on this far away road
These aspens of early October
Will color our memories with gold
He paints us a sweet Sunday morning
And He reaches our hearts through our eyes
We will pray to the sound of the river
With new friends underneath the big sky
He gives us the color of laughter
The kind that is breathless and strong
We cross the Smith River in barefeet
And the water just laughs right along
We have left everything that's familiar
To be here on this far away road
These aspens of early October
Will color our memories with gold
God pulls out His paint and His brushes
To paint me this picture with you
To give me these moments with you
i'm glad to be right here with you
