While sitting outside one day, a raindrop fell onto the page of
the book
I was reading. i wondered about all the places it might have been before
it landed there before me. This song about surrender is what resulted
from those thoughts.
World without a Word (journey of a
raindrop)
I've been here with my companions, floating high above the trees
in a cloud above the city, at the mercy of the breeze
we travel all together till we bravely leave the herd
to fall to earth from heaven to the world without a word
i helped to make a rainbow once, 'twas a most impressive scene
one time i climbed Mt. Everest, and i rained upon a queen
i rested in an aspen leaf, rode the backs of soaring birds
just a drop of water in the world without a word
i froze in Minnesota, heard the noise of New York streets
i swam the South Pacific, took a dance upon the beach
i was mist in Scottish highland, where the lapwing song is heard
i slept among the heather, in the world without a word
will you join me in the journey, it is simple my good friend
the secret is surrender, give your freedom to the Wind
one time i took up residence in a Galilean sea
i felt the soles of Holy Feet walking over me
what sights i've seen, what things i've felt, what music i have heard
i've weathered countless seasons in the world without a word
And now i'm here before you, as a blot upon your page,
but the journey that has brought me here would startle and amaze
if you follow my direction, you'll be challenged, you'll be stirred
windblown in a wond'rous way, through the world without a word
you may not know quite where you're bound, but you'll love the
place you've been
when you lose your fear of falling, and you learn to trust the Wind
